This last weekend I went to a Hanji paper making factory. Hanji is a Korean paper made from a certain type of Mulberry tree. The process was really incredible to see. I had to spread the pictures out over three blog entries. It all starts with these large strands of tree in the top photo. They are boiled for a long time and then bleached( 2nd photo).

wow lyd, i can't belive all the fun things you are doing over there! what a great life. i used to love the parts in mr. rogers where he would go to factories and see how things were made (remember that...the marble making episode was rad, second only to the crayon making episode) anyhow, cool you are actually seeing it!
