5th Birthday

We had our first birthday bash here in Korea. Would you expect anything less from us? We had pirates games, 3 cakes, refreshments, treasures, and took lot's of photo's. The birthday boy had so much fun with everyone and was so appreciative of all the gifts he received. We can't believe he's already 5ive. He was so excited the night before he stayed up until midnight! He kept asking us, "Why do you want to have a party for me mom...(then turns to dad with a huge grin) why do you want to have a party for me dad?" He was in serious repeat mode for hours on end giddy with excitement.....it's just like Christmas for the boy. We were just as excited but frantically trying to get everything put together. We took on a painting project of the century! We couldn't find anything pirate to buy for the party here so we had to dig a bit and get all crafty. It was actually a lot of fun...but seriously took so many hours. We should have started weeks earlier. Sound familiar?

We had a pretty good turn out. The kids' played Sink -a- Ship and let's go fishing. There were plenty of treasures to be had and the kids had fun with the games. The cakes were a lot of fun. In Korea people brings cakes for gifts. Traditionally, the birthday boy/girl takes everyone out to eat and foots the bill. Now that's a celebration. Wahoo...let me buy you something on my birthday. It was cool though...everyone brought him gifts and helped to make his day a special one.

Now for our birthday....we're still planning. The photos are of the kids and our Korean guests.

Enjoy
